Personal Information

Winnifred Acio is a Legal Officer at BarefootLaw. She is a lawyer that has experience working with various vulnerable groups particularly women in the northern part of Uganda. Her dream is to be a change-maker and improve the lives of as many people as possible in her lifetime. Through her work at BarefootLaw, she is part of a team that shares this dream and is using technology and innovation to improve access to justice for underserved communities in Uganda and offer free legal information and guidance to the public. 

Winnifred holds a bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC), and a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Law with Development from the University of Reading (UK).
